In 1978 Formenbau Schmitz was founded by Johann Josef Schmitz. Since his unexpected death in 1995, the business is run by his two sons Michael and Andreas Schmitz.

In the year 2000 they changed the legal form an individual enterprise to a limited company. Due to the positive progress, the management decided to build a new plant in the industrial zone Königskamp, Jülich in 2002. In 2005 the factory was extended by another production hall.

In 2011 the construction building was enlarged to 12 workplaces. Currently there are working about 45 employees at our company.
We have a production area of 2.500m² at our factory.

Due to its main customer Alpla Werke Alwin Lehner GmbH & Co.KG, the company is specialized on the development and the construction of extrusion dies and extrusion blow moulds for the plastics industry.  An 11 member construction team is dealing on several other subjects including the design for new products, CAM and mould design.

Our core competences are complete solutions from the designing with ultra-modern CAD-Machines, ABS-printmodels, to ready built blow moulds, which are constructed within a few weeks in top quality. Beyond that, we offer several options of contract manufacturing, like eroding, milling, deep-hole drilling, surface grinding and building of deep drawing tools.
